I sincerely hope that this year of celebrating 100 years since the Declaration of 16 February 1918 inspires our people in Lithuania and the diaspora to revive or to strengthen family and cultural ties and traditions. Lithuanians worldwide have succeeded in every possible field of endeavour and we must continue to inform our current younger and future generations about this.
